Who and how spends time on these days? How to manage relations with employees during the weekends on May 7, 8, and 10, and how is work compensated on weekends?

Weekends in Georgia can be established by the Labor Code or Government Resolution
- According to the Labor Code, weekends are: May 3–6, 9, and 12.
- According to the Government Resolution, May 7–8 and 10, 2024, are declared as weekends.
Important:
- 1Work on weekends established by the Labor Code of Georgia (May 3–6, 9, and 12) is considered overtime and is compensated at an increased rate. This rate is not legislatively defined, but judicial practice is guided by an increased coefficient of 1.25 — if a higher one is not defined in the employment contract.
If you decide to grant the employee the right to rest on May 7, 8, and 10, 2024, you can do it as follows:
* In case of overtime, the working week cannot exceed 40 hours, and the employee must be provided with at least one day off per week.
How public services will operate
- Banks will operate daily from May 7 until 17:00, and on weekends — in weekend mode
- Notaries operate at their discretion, with most planning to resume work from May 13
- The House of Justice starts operating from May 7 and operates daily (except May 9, Saturdays, and Sundays) from 9:00 to 18:00
- Commercial organizations operate at their discretion
