Who and how spends their time during these days? How should one handle relations with an employee during the weekend on January 3,6,8-10 and how is work compensated during these days?

Weekends in Georgia can be established by the Labor Code or by Government Resolution.
● According to the Labor Code, the weekends are January 1st–2nd, 7th, and 19th.
● According to the Government Resolution, January 3,6,8-10, 2025 are declared as weekends.

Important points:
- Work during the weekends established by Georgia's Labor Code (January 1st–2nd, 7th, and 19th) is considered overtime and is compensated at an increased rate. While this rate is not legislatively defined, judicial practice is guided by an increased coefficient of 1.25 (unless otherwise stated in the employment contract).
- Work during the weekends established by the Government Resolution (January 3,6,8-10) is NOT considered overtime and is compensated at the standard rate.
If you've decided to grant the employee time off from January 3,6,8-10 2025, you can do so in the following manner:
*In case of work, the workweek cannot exceed 40 hours, and the employee must be provided with at least one day off per week.
❓ How public services will operate:
- Banks will operate daily from January 3rd until 5:00 PM, and on weekends, they will function in holiday mode.
- Notaries will operate at their discretion; most plan to resume services from January 8th.
- Ministry of Justice starts operating from January 3rd, working daily (except Saturdays and Sundays) from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Commercial organizations will operate at their discretion.
